Have you heard of Arborek Island? This amazing picture-perfect destination is not only the ‘cleanest island in Raja Ampat, but it’s also a must-visit, especially for fans of sparkling white sand beaches, clear turquoise water and waving palms. It’s so stunning that it appears almost magical, and it’s so small that it takes just 30 minutes to walk its entire coastline!

Although it looks like an island, Arborek is actually a small and low flat sand cay that’s home to a pretty tourism village filled with just 197 friendly locals and their famous handmade souvenirs. The entire island is surrounded by thriving coral reefs and incredible marine life. Despite its size, Arborek welcomes boatloads of visitors on a daily basis. It’s a great stopover for those on the way to Piaynemo.

Go a little bit deeper and you’ll find yourself swimming amongst giant schools of sweetlips and jack mackerels! Fans of macro can keep an eye out for nudibranchs, pygmy seahorses, pipefish, and shrimp. If you’re lucky, you might just spot giant manta rays, reef sharks and wobbegong sharks while diving or snorkelling around Arborek island. Don’t forget to try night diving while you’re there!
