TRIP INFORMATION – KOMODO NATIONAL PARK
Embark on spectacular 3 to 5 day liveaboard adventures with us in the Komodo National Park, Indonesia, accessible via Labuan Bajo. Our trips focus on delivering the world’s most biodiverse diving, featuring frequent encounters with majestic Manta Rays, exploration of incredibly healthy coral gardens, and exhilarating drift dives.
While the diving is consistently excellent year round we do our annual maintenance in February so don’t run trips then. Beyond the incredible marine life, every itinerary includes signature land excursions, such as a guided visit to see the legendary Komodo Dragons and a breathtaking hike to panoramic viewpoints.

If you have booked your trip with us via email or an agent please come to the dive centre the day before by 4pm to check in and get equipment ready.

Nusantara Trips
Join us on Nusantara where we offer 3 to 5 days trips to the best areas of North, Central and South Komodo National Park, including Padar and Rinca to see the dragons.
Please note, for all Komodo trips if you want to fly a drone you will need to apply and pay for a permit. We can help you apply for this but need to know 1 week before your trip to make sure it is ready on time.

How do I get to Komodo National Park?
The journey to the heart of the Komodo National Park begins in Labuan Bajo, a vibrant coastal town on the western tip of Flores. To join us, you will fly into Komodo International Airport (LBJ).
International Arrivals: Most travelers connect via Jakarta (CGK) or Bali (DPS). Both cities offer multiple daily flights to Labuan Bajo, making it one of the most accessible expedition gateways in Indonesia.
Domestic Connections: If you are already traveling within Indonesia, you will find high-frequency flight options from both Jakarta and Bali. Many guests choose to combine a short stay in Bali with their Komodo expedition due to the convenient air links.

What is not included in the Komodo National Park Liveaboard Diving trips
- Pick up from other areas
- Flights – domestic or international
- Dive computer (this can be rented per day). Please note dive computer is mandatory.
- Alcohol – we have beer for sale
- Drone permit
- Tips for crew and guides
- National Park and Port Fees and other Local Government Fees. Must be paid on arrival in IDR.
Are there any prerequisites or diving experience required?
Diving Experience
Minimum of Open Water course, 10 dives and Deep Adventure dive (which can be taken on board).
We require that every guest has recent diving experience (within the last 6-12 months) before joining our liveaboards. If not, you will need to do a refresher.
We can also do the Advanced course with you whilst on the trip if you want to improve your skills.
Insurance
Guests must have their own travel insurance, personal dive insurance and trip cancellation insurance with no exclusions for Acts of God and Force Majeure events. You will not be permitted to join our liveaboard trips without presenting insurance information when you check in.
For diver insurance please make sure that it covers you for the depth of your certification and for dive accident cover including recompression treatment.
We can provide short term DAN insurance at an additional cost. Please ask at time of booking if you would like this.
What should I do if I have dietary restrictions?
We can cater for most dietary requirements including halal, vegetarian and gluten free, but if you have specific dietary restrictions we must be notified of this before your arrival. However, due to our remote location and nature of the trips we can’t guarantee that they can be met. Where possible, we are happy to prepare meals with food that is brought on to the boat and we recommend purchasing this in Bali or from back home as you may not find what you need in Labuan Bajo.
What if I have severe allergies or medical conditions?
If you suffer from severe allergies or medical conditions you must make sure you have adequate medication with you and let us know so we can inform our boat crew. You will also need clearance from a doctor too. Please note not all medications are safe to dive with.
The medical facilities here are minimal and evacuation to the nearest major hospital (Bali) can take 12-24 hours in good conditions.
Recompression Chamber
Although we hope we never need to use it there is a recompression chamber at Siloam Hospital in Labuan Bajo.
Awesome way to experience everything Komodo National Park has to offer. Staff were incredible friendly, knowledgeable and competetent with the park and diving in general. Guides went out of their way to ensure we where not only safe at all times but to ensure we experienced the Mantas! Chef cooked some amazing meals – will definitely be back to experience Mikumba Magic yet again.
